SDGS | GOMBE

Since the inception of the Millennium Development Goals in the year 2000 in Nigeria there has been a significant shift in the poverty conditions of the poor in the nation. The Millennium Development Goals was introduced into the socio-economic platform of Gombe State in 2007. Since then there has been a rapid transformation in the livelihood of the poor (unreached). There also has been a significant change in the poverty indices of the state.

Gombe State successfully closed projects of the Millennium Development Goals in a successful note and has transited to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The projects of the SDGs emphasize on enhancing grassroots development and modifying/empowering the urban cohort with the sole aim of Ending Poverty Come 2030.

However, the current Projects being implemented which are the last batch of the MDGs projects were designed by the Project Support Unit in collaboration with other MDAs in the State, approved by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs (OSSAP-SDGs) and are supervised by SIFEGATE INTERNATIONAL LIMITED a Development Consulting Firm nominated by OSSAP-SDGs.
